The Cane Corso
The Cane Corso cane be many things to many people; a loving pet, an intelligent and active companion, and a fierce protector. The Cane Corso is all of these, and more. Affectionatly known by some as the "Collie of the Molossers", the Corso is an eminently trainable and extremely active dog. Large and imposing, the Corso's natural wariness and indifference to strangers provides owners with a sense of security both in and away from home. The Corso's working ability, be it in modern dog sports, on the farm, or in police work, describe a dog that can indeed be almost all things to all people.
But this dog is not for all people - dominant, stubborn, and often difficult with other dogs, the Corso requires an experienced handler - one who can devote the time, energy and emotional investment required in a dog of this nature. Ever ready to exploit a lapse in your concentration or regimen, in the wrong hands, a Corso can be another thing - a liability.
The pages in this section detail both the Corso itself and a lot of information about Corso ownership - from health concerns to training and dietary aids, from the Corso's controversial and possibly short history to examples of its modern exploits.
