August Re-Home Report

Firstly, we have Keeva a 15 month female Corso situated in kennels in Birmingham.  Her owner gave her up because she was moving house and subsequently had no room for her.  The owner did have the dog booked in to be euthanised  as she could not find a suitable home.  Thankfully, a local rescue have taken her in and we are currently in the process of putting her into an outstanding foster home.  We hope to find a forever home for her soon and if you feel you can give Keeva the home she deserves please do contact the the FOCC Re-home Team.  We will post weekly updates on her progress on the FOCC Re-home Forum once she is in her foster home.  Thank you John, Louise, Nathan and Tina for your offers of help - we really have a wonderful wonderful Corso Community to be very proud of.

Update! Keeva is in her foster home and thriving!

An update on Kenny a the illegally cropped Blue Male Corso who has been residing at Battersea Dogs Home London under the fantastic care of Nicola and Sam.  We are pleased to report that Kenny has come on leaps and bounds, is full of fun and has a true Corso personality.  Thank you to Barry and Clair for the offer of a respite place until Kenny can be moved to Boleyn Cane Corso to join Jo and the pack in his long term rehabilitation.  You will be able to find out what Kenny is up to through weekly diary entries on the FOCC.

If you feel you have the energy and patience for a Kenny in your life please do contact Jo Lueck at jojo@co3.co.uk or Nicola Sewell at re-homing department Battersea Dogs Home, London.

Update! Kenny is in a foster home and thriving!

Just today we have learned of a 9 month old male Cane Corso situated in kennels in the North East of England.  He was found wandering the streets of Gateshead and taken to the pound by members of the public.  He is microchipped and his owners were contacted but do not want him back.  We will be doing a full assessment this week on this temperament and afterwards we are looking for a foster home in the North East area to work closely with our Northern Re-homing team his rehabilitation and ultimately the placement  of this young dog into a forever loving home.  If you feel you can help in anyway please email Ali Bark on the following email address: canecorsouk@hotmail.com.

Finally (just this week) we have Luca. Luca's owners felt that they were no longer able to cope with small children and this energetic boy.  Sadly, Luca is failing to thrive in kennels in spite of all the hard work, energy and dedication shown by the team at Battersea he will really benefit from a adult-only experienced Foster Home as soon as possible.

Update! Luca was euthanised at Battersea on Moday after becoming very sick in kennels.

The FOCC appreciate that the credit crunch is hitting us hard and fundraising is in place for all of these dogs.  Of course, the more time, energy, feed you can donate the less money we have to take from rescue funds, however, if you feel you have all the love and time to give but pennies are a problem the BCCS and FOCC are more than happy to discuss contributions towards care.

The FOCC and BCCS offer a lifetime of support and advice, absolutely free of charge! So if you feel you have the time, energy and dedication to welcome one of these dogs into your life, we will be there every step of the way on your Corso journey.
